It is absolutely possible to lose weight, and a ton of it without exercise. I’ll say it again, you do not have to exercise and you will still lose fat. Getting your body into fat burning mode is 100% based on the food you eat and has nothing to do with exercise. I know that is a bold statement but it’s true.
Some people say that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. That is wrong. Weight loss is 100% nutrition and exercise is an ancillary technique used to build muscle, tone, shape, and sculpt your body.

Now don’t get me wrong. I do believe exercise is very beneficial and there is definitely a time when it becomes necessary to incorporate into a healthy lifestyle. However, if you have more than 30 pounds to lose I am a big believer in taking a gradual approach and recommend focusing on getting your nutrition dialed in, your metabolism repaired and your hormones balanced before you dive into strenuous exercise.

In the beginning of this program, there are so many internal metabolic changes occurring within your body and it is in full-on repair mode. It needs support in the form of superior nutrition, adequate hydration, and plentiful rest. During this healing process, it is best to reduce stress as much as possible and that includes physical exercise.

With that said, I do however recommend moving your body daily by Walking.

With today’s sedentary lifestyles and with most women having desk jobs, walking becomes a necessity to keep our body from becoming stiff, stale, and stagnant.

Walking also helps with weight loss because it lowers stress and helps with circulation of nutrients throughout the body, which is necessary for optimal metabolism function. It also stimulates the fat-burning enzyme lipase. For this program, I suggest walking 20-30 minutes per day.

Please note that this is optional and is not required, but is highly recommended.

If you are a fitness enthusiast and love to work out by doing other types of exercising, you can continue working out if you choose. If you choose to continue integrating rigorous exercise along with the 3X program, please just beware of your mindset. A problem I commonly see with women who exercise a lot is that they believe that working out entitles them to eat and drink whatever they want because they are still operating off the calories-in-versus-calories-out theory and that will absolutely keep you from getting the best results.

I strongly suggest if you have more than 30 pounds to lose that you only do light exercises such as walking, biking, swimming, or yoga. During the time when your body is healing and repairing, it can sometimes be counterproductive to overwhelm yourself with strenuous “boot camp” type exercising or hormone/stress elevating intense cardio. Those types of exercises put a lot of stress on your metabolism.

To further clarify, there’s nothing wrong with having these stress factors on the body so long as the body is hormonally and nutritionally balanced on a cellular level. When it is, the body can easily handle these stress factors, as it is designed to do.

But only after a person has reset their body on a cellular level (nutritionally) should one take up exercise.

So before you start to embark on heavy exercise, let’s first get your metabolism optimized and your hormones balanced so that it feels safe in releasing fat. Once you are within a healthy weight range, exercise becomes very beneficial, as it is a necessary component to a healthy lifestyle.
