The 3X Weight Loss Meal Plan
Summary
In this video I talk about the 3X Weight Loss Meal Plan.
Transcript
Let’s discuss the combination of foods that should be eaten with every meal to not only help you lose weight but nourish your body and help you feel full and satiated.
Each meal should contain protein, vegetable carbs and healthy fats.
Let’s start with protein. Protein is what provides your body with the tools (amino acids) it needs to build and repair your organs, tissues, muscles, and bones. This is an ongoing process that your body goes through: the breaking down and repairing of different body parts. Without sufficient protein, your body will break down muscle in order to get what it needs for more important functions like your heart and your lungs.
We want to make sure we maintain the muscle mass that you currently have through getting adequate amounts of high quality, usable protein, and then once you’ve lost your excess body fat, you’ll want to focus on strengthening and building your muscles with exercise so that you can continue to burn fat long-term.
You should aim to get 4-6 oz of protein with each meal.
Fat-burning Carbs
The type of carbs that you eat will either make or break your weight loss results.
The carbs that are used in this program provide your body with energy, as well as the essential nutrients that your metabolism needs, yet they do not contain high amounts of sugar that will cause your body to store fat.
We’re going to consume vegetables as the sole source of carbohydrates during the rapid fat loss phase of the program, and that’s because they have the least effect on insulin while providing your body with the most amount of dense nutrition possible.
Dense nutrition is a term used to describe the concept of getting the most amount of value out of the food you eat.
Vegetables play a vital role in your health for several reasons.
They can help heal a failing or damaged hormonal system, they are high in fiber which buffers the fat storing hormone insulin and feeds the gut friendly bacteria, and they are loaded with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants your metabolism needs to do its job.
Green vegetables also contain a nutrient called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll helps eliminate cravings, detoxes the body, helps control blood sugar levels, lowers inflammation, and melts fat.
You can have as many non-starchy vegetables as you want. Starchy vegetables would be things like potatoes. Corn, by the way, is not a vegetable, but a grain.
Healthy Fats
We’ve all heard that fat is bad for us, but how bad is it? Are all fats the same?
No, they are not. Bad fats are the ones I mentioned in the previous section. Things like vegetable oils and trans fats definitely need to be avoided. However, not all fats are created equal.
When it comes to your health there are some important points to know about fat.
First off, your brain is 60% fat and requires fat to work properly.
Secondly, each one of your cells is wrapped in a layer of fat and it depends on fat to keep the nutrients in the cell and toxins out of your cells.
Furthermore, your body needs fat to manufacture hormones and your entire body is run by your hormonal system, so having it work properly is pretty important.
Fats are also what keep you satiated throughout the day, and if you don’t get enough healthy fats in your diet, you will feel like you’re starving.
So keep this in mind. If you ever feel hungry or start to have cravings, just know that you need more healthy fats, not a Snickers bar.
You will want to include 1-2 tablespoons of healthy fats per meal and eat even more throughout the day if you ever feel hungry. If you find that you cannot make it from one meal to the next without feeling hungry, chances are you need more healthy fats.
